What Is Structural Integration?
A Hands-On Approach to Real Relief When Nothing Else Has Worked
If You’ve Tried Everything, but Still Feel Off…
You’re not imagining it.
Structural Integration helps people who’ve done physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, and more—but still don’t feel quite right. Maybe you’re in pain. Maybe you’re tired all the time. Or maybe your body just doesn’t feel like you anymore.
This work helps you reset your body at the structural level by working on your fascia—the connective tissue that wraps around your muscles, bones, and organs.
You may have heard of Rolfing® or Hellerwork®—those are both forms of Structural Integration, a type of Myofascial Release Therapy.
At Hello Alignment, we blend the best of these approaches to help you feel better, move freely, and get real relief that lasts.
How It Works
Structural Integration isn’t about relaxing—it’s about realigning.
Over time, stress, injury, and daily habits create patterns in your body—like tight shoulders, locked hips, or poor posture. These patterns can cause pain, fatigue, and strain that builds over years.
SI uses precise, hands-on techniques to release stuck fascia and help your body organize itself more efficiently. The result:
Less pain
Better posture
A body that works with you—not against you
What It Helps With
This work is especially helpful for:
Chronic pain or stiffness
Fatigue or burnout
Long-term stress patterns
Desk posture and tech neck
Climbing, running, or gym injuries
Nervous system regulation
Feeling “off” with no clear diagnosis
If you’re in Brooklyn and looking for Rolfing®, Hellerwork®, Myofascial Release Therapy or Structural Integration to address real, lasting change—this is it.
Rolfing vs. Hellerwork vs. Myofascial Release Therapy vs. Structural Integration
All four approaches work with fascia, posture, and the body as a whole system.
Rolfing® is the original method developed by Dr. Ida Rolf.
Hellerwork® combines fascia work with movement and awareness practices.
Myofascial Release Therapy uses sustained pressure to ease restrictions and reduce pain locally.
Structural Integration is the broader field that Rolfing® and Hellerwork® belong to—focused on helping you feel aligned, supported, and free. While Myofascial Release also works with fascia, Structural Integration takes a more whole-body, postural approach—focusing not just on pain relief, but on how you move, stand, and live in your body.
At Hello Alignment, we use elements from all four—tailored to your body, your history, and what you need most.
What to Expect in a Session
Sessions are fully clothed (gym/yoga wear is perfect) and typically last 60–75 minutes.
You’ll start with a check-in and simple movement assessment. Then I’ll use slow, intentional pressure to release tension and guide your body back into better balance. You may be asked to stand, walk, or breathe to help integrate the work.
Most clients say they feel lighter, more grounded, and more connected to their bodies—often in ways they haven’t felt in years.

What makes this work different?
At the core of our work is the understanding that everything is connected—your body, mind, emotions, and even your external environment all influence how you feel and move. SI helps you release the restrictions that hold you back, so you can feel great in your body and live with more presence and ease.
We use three essential components:
Myofascial Release Therapy – deep-tissue techniques to target the fascia, the connective tissue of the body. By releasing areas of tension and restriction, your body naturally realigns, helping to ease pain and restore a sense of balance, comfort, and fluid movement.
Movement Education – brings greater awareness to your posture and movement habits helping to break old patterns that cause tension or misalignment. Simple, effective exercises are offered to maintain the newfound ease and fluidity in your body, supporting long-term change.
Somatic Dialogue – This approach deepens your awareness of how emotional and mental states are reflected in your physical body, and vice versa. By recognizing the patterns that exist between your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, you become empowered to make choices that support your overall well-being and create greater alignment in both body and mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Structural Integration is a modality that combines bodywork that focuses on aligning the body by working with fascia (connective tissue) + movement education + somatic awareness. It helps to release tension, improve posture, increase wellbeing, and create more ease and balance in the body.
It’s in a class of it’s own and will leave you feeling better than before. -
We start with a conversation about your body—how you feel, how you move, and any areas of discomfort or restriction. I’ll assess your posture and movement patterns, looking for imbalances or tension that may be affecting your alignment and ease.
Sessions are interactive—you won’t just lie on the table. You’ll be guided through subtle movements while I work, allowing us to access deeper layers of tension. You’ll also move between the table, a chair, and standing positions to explore how shifts in alignment feel in different postures. Throughout, we’ll have an ongoing discussion, not just about what you're noticing, but about the deeper connection between your body and mind, helping you develop greater somatic awareness.
Before you leave, we’ll reassess your posture and movement to ensure there’s a noticeable change. I may also give you simple movement exercises to reinforce the work and help you maintain the benefits between sessions—so you walk out feeling more balanced, aligned, and attuned to your body. -
Each one-hour session costs $240*
Unlike acupuncture or chiropractic care, where the practitioner may only spend a few minutes with you, Structural Integration is a full-hour, high-touch, one-on-one session focused entirely on you. Each session is designed to create deep, lasting change by addressing your body’s unique movement patterns, restrictions, and alignment.
This is an investment in your long-term mobility, recovery, and performance.

Structural Integration is not covered by insurance, but you can use youFSA or HSA funds with a doctor’s note. We can help guide you through this process.
-
The number of sessions varies based on your individual needs and goals. Many clients notice meaningful improvements after just one session, while deeper, more lasting transformation often requires a series of appointments.
Some choose to complete a structured 10-session series, systematically addressing the entire body from head to toe. Others prefer to schedule sessions as needed, based on how they feel. After an initial series, many clients continue with periodic tune-ups to maintain alignment and wellbeing.
Ultimately, the right approach depends on what works best for you. We can discuss your goals and create a plan that supports your long-term mobility, alignment, and overall quality of life.
-
Each session lasts 60 minutes, providing enough time for thorough bodywork, movement education, and dialogue about your mind-body connection.
-
Sessions are scheduled every Wednesday from 10 AM to 2 PM. You can select the time that best fits your schedule during the booking process.
-
